Overview
The MG ZS is the brand’s compact five-seat SUV and the cheapest way into an MG crossover here, sitting a size class below the MG HS. Three trims are listed for 2026: petrol Vibe at PKR 6,599,000, Hybrid+ Excite at PKR 7,099,000 and Hybrid+ Essence at PKR 7,499,000, all ex-factory. Pay orders go to MG Motors Pakistan, booking is around 20%, and delivery is quoted at 2–3 months — this is a car you plan for rather than drive home next week.
Exterior
All three trims share one body: 4430 mm long, 1818 mm wide and 1635 mm tall on a 2610 mm wheelbase, with 161 mm of clearance — enough for most speed breakers without the tippy feel of a taller SUV. Roof rails, a rear spoiler and indicator-equipped mirrors are standard, and the trim giveaway is the wheel: Vibe on 17-inch alloys with 215/55 R17 tyres, both Hybrid+ trims on 18s with 215/50 R18. Six colours are offered — White, Diamond Red, Black Pearl, Sloane Silver, Grey and Brighton Blue.
Interior
Five seats, folding rear backrests and a 443-litre boot make this an honest small-family car rather than a load-lugger. Vibe is where the entry price shows itself: fabric upholstery and a manual air conditioner. Both Hybrid+ trims move to leatherette, automatic climate control, an electrically adjusted driver’s seat, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera, with front parking sensors added to the rear set.
Infotainment
Every ZS gets a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice control, front and rear speakers and steering-wheel switches, so even Vibe covers the basics. Vibe and Excite use a 10.1-inch display running MG iSMART; Essence steps up to 12.3 inches. Built-in navigation and the connected iSMART set are Hybrid+ only, and no trim offers a head-up display.
Engine / driving
Vibe uses a 1495 cc naturally aspirated four making 107 HP and 142 Nm, driving the front wheels through a CVT — fine for commuting, less happy fully loaded, with a 180 km/h ceiling. The Hybrid+ pair is a far stronger car: a 1498 cc petrol engine with electric assist through MG’s DHT automatic, quoted at 211 HP for Excite and 212 HP for Essence, 465 Nm combined and 190 km/h. Both are front-wheel drive and add hill-descent control to the hill-start assist every ZS carries.
Safety
Vibe carries four airbags; the Hybrid+ trims get six. Stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, tyre-pressure monitoring, an immobiliser, an anti-theft alarm, child locks and a reversing camera are fitted across the range. The published sheet stops there, though — it does not itemise driver-assistance items such as autonomous braking or lane keeping, so confirm ADAS content with the dealer for the build you are quoted.
Mileage
Vibe is claimed at 10 km/l in the city and 13 km/l on the highway, 11 km/l combined, which is ordinary for a 1.5-litre automatic crossover. The Hybrid+ trims claim 17 km/l city and 23 km/l highway, 19 km/l combined, from the same 45-litre tank. Since the hybrid does its best work at low speed, the roughly PKR 500,000 step is easiest to justify for buyers who spend their week in city traffic.
