Overview
The Jaecoo J5 is a compact hybrid crossover aimed at buyers who want SUV stance and a modern cabin without a large fuel bill. Two HEV grades sit on the 2026 list: Comfort at PKR 6,699,000 and Premium at PKR 7,699,000 ex-factory. Freight, taxes, and registration sit on top. Booking is about 20% to NexGen Auto Pvt Ltd, with delivery quoted around 4 months.
A 1.5-litre turbo hybrid with DHT pairs petrol and electric drive for a listed 221 HP / 295 Nm combined output. Claimed WLTP economy is about 5.3 L/100 km, with PakWheels showing 16–20 km/l in real-world bands and a 51 L tank for long highway stretches.
Exterior
The J5 keeps a squared-off crossover look: waterfall grille, LED lighting with auto high beam, and 18-inch alloys. Overall size is 4380 × 1860 × 1650 mm on a 2620 mm wheelbase with 176 mm clearance. Comfort runs 235/50 R18 tyres; Premium steps to 235/55 R18. Five colours cover black, blue, grey, green, and khaki white.
Interior
Five seats and a 480 L boot make it a practical daily SUV. Comfort keeps fabric seats and a simpler cabin; Premium adds faux-leather powered fronts, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate, ambient lighting, and a panoramic glass roof. Rear passengers get a folding bench for extra cargo when needed.
Infotainment
Comfort uses a 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto and a digital cluster. Premium moves to a 13.2-inch central screen, 8-speaker audio, wireless phone mirroring, and wireless charging — the cabin tech jump most buyers notice first.
Engine / driving
Both trims share the same SHS HEV package: 1499 cc turbo petrol hybrid, FWD, DHT automatic, Eco / Normal / Sport modes, and a listed top speed of 180 km/h. Combined peak is 221 HP and 295 Nm, with a brochure 0–100 km/h claim around 7.9 seconds. Regenerative braking helps city stop-go; long trips still lean on the petrol side of the system.
Safety
Comfort starts with 2 airbags, ABS/EBD, stability aids, and a front camera. Premium expands to 6 airbags, AEB, lane keep, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, and a 540° camera — the safer pick for family highway use.
Mileage
PakWheels lists 16–20 km/l depending on trim and conditions; official WLTP combined is about 18.9 km/l on paper. With a 51 L tank, brochure range can stretch past 950 km in ideal use. Real figures depend on AC load, traffic, and how often the hybrid stays in electric assist.
Variants
Comfort at PKR 6,699,000 is the value HEV entry. Premium at PKR 7,699,000 adds the bigger screen, six airbags, panoramic roof, and 540° camera.
