Overview
The Deepal L07 is Changan Pakistan's all-electric fastback sedan, and the official sheet keeps it simple: one grade, the EV, at PKR 13,999,000 (PKR 1.40 crore) ex-factory, before freight, taxes and registration. Booking is about 15% (PKR 2,099,850) and delivery is quoted at roughly 3 months. The money buys a rear-drive sedan with 255 HP, a 66.8 kWh ternary lithium pack and a claimed 540 km NEDC range — a car for someone who can charge at home and wants a sedan rather than another crossover.
Exterior
At 4820 mm long, 1890 mm wide and just 1480 mm tall on a 2900 mm wheelbase, the L07 carries its length low, and the frameless doors, hidden handles, Star Petal DRLs and through-type LED tail bar do most of the visual work. 19-inch alloys on 245/45 R19 rubber fill the arches but are costly to replace, and no spare is carried. The figure to weigh hardest is 150 mm of clearance: fine on smooth roads, but tall speed breakers need a slow, square approach.
Interior
It is a five-seater built around a yacht-inspired dash and a panoramic roof, with leather trim, a 12-way power driver seat with lumbar and heated front seats — the rear bench is not heated. Rear passengers get their own vents and touch climate controls, and 40 W wireless charging keeps phones ahead of navigation. The 410-litre boot is honest rather than generous for this length, though a frunk takes the cables.
Infotainment
The centrepiece is a 14.6-inch Sunflower touchscreen on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8155 chip with Huawei HarmonyOS, backed by a digital cluster and an AR head-up display that lays navigation over the road ahead. CarPlay, Android Auto and voice control are listed, and the 14-speaker Sony system beats what sedans at this money usually offer here. Cabin scenario modes — Camping, Nap, Car Wash — make it a usable waiting room while it charges.
Electric powertrain
A single rear-mounted permanent-magnet motor makes 255 HP and 320 Nm through a 1-speed automatic, so there is nothing to wait for off the line and top speed is capped at 180 km/h. MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear axle give it a proper rear-drive sedan layout, and the 5.6 m turning radius keeps parking easy. Charging is what you plan around: DC fast charging is quoted at 30–80% in about 35 minutes, a full AC fill at roughly 8 hours — overnight work on the 7 kW wall charger bundled in Deepal's launch offers.
Safety
Six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction and stability control form the base, joined by a 360° camera, TPMS and ISOFIX anchors. The assist pack is complete for the segment: autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, lane keep and blind-spot detection. The battery cover should reassure a first-time EV buyer: 8 years or 240,000 km, well past the usual Pakistani ownership cycle.
Mileage
There is no km/l figure here. What matters is the claimed 540 km NEDC range from the 66.8 kWh pack, and NEDC is an optimistic cycle by nature — motorway speed, summer heat and constant air conditioning all pull the real number below the brochure. Day to day the maths is easy: an overnight AC charge covers a week of city running. Intercity travel is harder, because public DC fast charging is still thin outside the big cities.
Variants
- EV — PKR 13,999,000, the only grade listed, so everything above is standard: 255 HP rear drive, the 66.8 kWh pack, 19-inch alloys, the 14.6-inch screen with AR HUD, panoramic roof and the full assist pack. Booking PKR 2,099,850, delivery about 3 months.
Alternatives
The obvious cross-shop is the BYD Seal, the other Chinese electric sedan with an established network here. Spend the same money on a conventional large sedan and the Hyundai Sonata is the easier long-trip car, while the Honda Civic has the strongest resale story in the class. If home charging is the sticking point, the range-extended Deepal S05 drops the charging plan entirely.
