Overview
The Deepal S05 is Pakistan’s first locally assembled range-extended electric SUV (REEV). One grade is on the 2026 list: REEV Premium at PKR 9,999,000 (PKR 99.99 lacs) ex-factory. Freight, taxes, and registration sit on top. Delivery is quoted at about 2 months through Changan’s Deepal network.
It drives mainly on electric power — a 215 HP rear motor and 27.28 kWh LFP pack give a listed 170 km NEDC electric range — while a 1.5-litre petrol range extender feeds the battery for 1,000+ km combined travel. Think of it as an EV-first crossover for buyers who want silent city running without DC-charger anxiety on Lahore–Islamabad trips.
Exterior
The S05 is a coupe-SUV on Changan’s EPA1 platform: 4620 × 1900 × 1600 mm with a 2880 mm wheelbase and 169 mm clearance. Frameless doors, LED smart wing headlights, star-wing taillights, and a 1.9 m² panoramic glass roof define the look. Pakistan REEV Premium rolls on 18-inch alloys with 225/60 R18 tyres. Kerb weight is 1940 kg.
Interior
Five perforated synthetic-leather seats include heated and ventilated fronts, an eight-way powered driver seat with lumbar support, passenger memory, and a Zero Gravity co-pilot chair with leg rest. Rear passengers get a centre armrest and a 60:40 split bench. Boot space is 492 litres with the seats up.
Infotainment
A 15.4-inch rotating Attentive Sunflower screen handles navigation, streaming apps, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, and voice control. A 14-speaker system, 50 W wireless charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, and an augmented-reality head-up display round out the cabin tech. Over-the-air updates are supported.
Engine / driving
A 160 kW permanent-magnet motor sends 215 HP and 320 Nm to the rear wheels through a 1-speed automatic. The 1.5-litre Blue Whale range extender (94 HP) never drives the wheels directly — it charges the battery when SOC drops. Listed top speed is 170 km/h. Drive feel is EV-smooth with RWD balance and multi-link rear suspension. V2L can export up to 6.6 kW for camping gear or tools.
Safety
Six airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, traction and stability control, hill descent control, AEB, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, ISOFIX, and a 360° camera are on the PakWheels sheet. Battery protection is marketed as Golden Shield 2.0 with IP68-rated pack sealing.
Mileage
Brochure electric range is 170 km NEDC; combined stretch exceeds 1,000 km with a full charge and 45 L fuel tank. PakWheels lists 20–24 km/L when the extender runs — real figures depend on how often you stay in EV mode, AC load, and highway speed.
