Overview
The BYD Sealion 7 is Mega Motor’s premium battery-electric SUV and the brand’s largest passenger EV here. Only one trim is offered for 2026 — Advanced at PKR 15,490,000 ex-factory — so the decision is a yes-or-no on price, not a walk up a trim ladder. It takes the Seal sedan’s recipe and raises it: an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, 308 HP and 380 Nm from a rear motor, and a listed 502 km range. Booking is a heavy PKR 3,000,000 against a quoted 2–3 month wait, so you commit long before you drive, and at 4830 mm long and 1925 mm wide, gate widths and parking need as much thought as charging.
Exterior
This is a coupe-flavoured SUV, not a boxy one: closed EV nose, long 2930 mm wheelbase, roofline tapering into a tailgate spoiler. 19-inch alloys on 235/50 R19 rubber fill the arches, but there is no spare wheel — on local roads that means a repair kit and a plan. Roof rails and indicator mirrors are standard; colours are Cosmos Blue, Ski White, Atlantis Grey, and Cosmos Black. No ground clearance figure is published locally, so check it against your own speed breakers.
Interior
The flat EV floor and 2930 mm wheelbase are what you actually buy: five leatherette seats with a usable middle row, not the token bench a coupe roofline implies. The driver’s seat is electrically adjusted with lumbar support and memory, and both front seats are heated and ventilated — ventilation matters far more in a Lahore June than any acceleration figure. Climate control, wireless charging, a smart key with push-button start, folding rear seats, and automatic headlamps fill out the kit. There is no head-up display and no tachometer; a multi-info digital cluster handles instrumentation. The boot is 500 litres — honest but not cavernous for a car this long, since the sloping tail costs height.
Infotainment
The centrepiece is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen — portrait for maps, landscape for video — beside a digital cluster and connected EV menus for charge status, drive modes, and cameras. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth, USB, and voice control are listed, with front and rear speakers. Almost every secondary control lives in that screen: clean parked, slower on the move.
Electric powertrain
A single rear motor drives the back wheels through a 1-speed automatic: 308 HP, 380 Nm from standstill, a claimed 215 km/h. Rear drive plus 2225 kg makes it quick in a straight line and deliberate through corners, while double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension and a 5.8 m turning radius point to motorway composure over city agility. Ventilated front and solid rear discs stop it.
Safety
Seven airbags for five belted occupants is generous, and the electronic net is complete: stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, TPMS, child locks, an anti-theft alarm, a door-opening warning, and seatbelt reminders up front. Front and rear sensors, a reversing camera, and a 360-degree camera cover parking, which a car this wide genuinely needs. The local sheet lists no autonomous emergency braking or adaptive cruise, so have the dealer confirm driver assistance for your VIN.
Mileage
Range replaces km/l: 502 km claimed from the 82.56 kWh Blade pack, enough for roughly a week of city commuting or a one-charge Lahore–Islamabad run. Expect less at motorway speed with the air conditioning fighting 45°C. A home AC charge is listed at about 8 hours, so overnight wall-box top-ups are the realistic pattern; DC fast charging cuts that sharply, but public DC points still cluster in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Variants
- Advanced — PKR 15,490,000, the only trim listed: rear-drive 308 HP, 82.56 kWh battery, 19-inch alloys, 15.6-inch rotating screen, seven airbags, 360-degree camera, heated and ventilated front seats. Booking PKR 3,000,000, delivery 2–3 months.
Alternatives
Same battery-and-motor thinking in a lower, sportier body: BYD Seal. Smaller, far cheaper BYD electric crossover: BYD Atto 3. Closest rival electric SUV: Deepal S07. If the charging maths does not work, the hybrid answer is the Hyundai Tucson.
