MTMIS Punjab: Online Vehicle Verification

Check any Punjab-registered car or bike on the Excise department’s MTMIS — and know what to compare before you pay a seller.

  • Official services only

Verify a Punjab vehicle

You’ll need

  • Registration number as on the plate (e.g. LXZ 123 or LXZ-07-1111)
  • Registration date
  • Captcha
Open MTMIS Punjab

Opens the official MTMIS Punjab page in a new tab. We don’t see or store what you enter there.

What the record shows

MTMIS Punjab

  • Owner name and father’s / husband’s name
  • Owner’s city
  • Make, year of manufacture and colour
  • Engine number
  • Registration date and vehicle price
  • Token tax: paid-up-to date, or “LIFE TIME”

MTMIS now asks for the registration date as well as the number — a bare number search no longer works.

Step by step

How to verify a vehicle on MTMIS Punjab

  1. 1

Open MTMIS on the Punjab Excise website and stay on the Vehicle Verification tab.

  2. 2

Type the registration number as it appears on the plate. If nothing comes up, try the other forms MTMIS suggests — LXZ 123, LXZ 0123 or with the year, LXZ-07-1111.

  3. 3

Enter the registration date from the registration book or smart card, then solve the captcha and press Search.

  4. 4

Read the record against the car and the seller’s CNIC: owner name, engine number, make, colour, year and the token tax status.

  5. 5

Application Tracking on the same page follows a transfer or registration you have already applied for.

Guide

Punjab vehicle verification explained

A date means the yearly token is paid until then; if it is in the past, the arrears and penalty are collected at transfer. LIFE TIME appears on cars up to 1000cc and motorcycles, which pay a one-off token (Rs 20,000 for a car). If such a car is sold within ten years, the buyer pays that lifetime token again less 10% a year — see the transfer fee calculator.

MTMIS now needs the registration date as well as the number, so a number alone — say, from a photo of a plate — no longer opens anyone’s record. Ask the seller for the date from the smart card or registration book; a seller who won’t share it is a warning sign.

MTMIS shows the vehicle price recorded at registration. For cars above 1000cc that figure drives the yearly token — Punjab charges a percentage of it — so the Punjab token tax calculator uses the same number.

Punjab Excise has announced that vehicles registered in other provinces or Islamabad can now be transferred and re-registered in Punjab with a Punjab number plate. Until that happens, an Islamabad or Sindh car will not appear on MTMIS — use Islamabad or Sindh verification instead.

Punjab transfers need biometric verification of buyer and seller; Punjab Excise has announced this through the PAK IDENTITY app as well as at its offices. The Excise transfer fee is Rs 4,540 up to 1000cc and Rs 910 for a motorcycle, plus FBR tax on cars.
