Overview
The Xpeng X9 is a full-size, seven-seat electric MPV. XPENG Pakistan sells one trim, the Long Range Pro+ 2WD, at PKR 31,500,000. That puts it in Land Cruiser money for a family that wants chauffeur-grade second-row seats and no petrol bill.
It is a big vehicle: 5293 mm long, 1988 mm wide and 1785 mm tall, on a 3160 mm wheelbase. It weighs 2590 kg. The draw is not speed but space, quiet and charging time.
Exterior
The X9 is shaped for low drag rather than boxy space — Xpeng quotes a 0.236 drag coefficient on the Pakistan brochure. Light bars run across the nose and tail, the door handles sit flush, and both rear doors slide electrically. The Pro+ rides on 20-inch wheels with a floating centre logo and is the only trim offered in Matte Gray. Other colours are Crescent Silver, Dark Night Black and Nebula White.
Interior
The second row is the reason to buy it. The Pro+ gets two Nappa "zero gravity" sofas with 18-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and a ten-point massage, plus fold-out tables and wireless charging. The third row adjusts electrically too and can be stowed from the boot with a switch. With all seats up the boot takes 755 litres; with the third row folded that becomes 2554 litres. A hot-and-cold fridge, five-zone climate and a fragrance system complete the lounge feel.
Infotainment
Up front, a 17.3-inch centre screen and 10.25-inch cluster run on a Qualcomm 8295P chip. Rear passengers get a 21.4-inch fold-down screen. The 23-speaker XOPERA system has 2180 W and 7.1.6 channels, including speakers in the driver's headrest. The brochure does not list Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Engine / driving
One motor drives the front wheels: 315 HP (235 kW) and 450 Nm. It reaches 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and tops out at 200 km/h — brisk for a 2.6-tonne van. A dual-chamber air suspension smooths out broken roads, and the brochure lists active rear-wheel steering, which helps a 5.3-metre vehicle in tight car parks.
Safety
There are 6 airbags, including 70.9-litre curtains that cover all three rows. The XPILOT 2.5 package uses an NVIDIA Orin-X chip, three radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 12 cameras for adaptive cruise, lane centring, AEB, blind-spot and door-open warnings, rear cross-traffic alert, driver monitoring, remote parking and remote summon. E-Call is standard.
Mileage
There is no fuel average to quote. The 101.5 kWh NMC battery is rated at 590 km on the WLTP cycle, at 20.4 kWh/100 km. DC charging peaks at 317 kW and goes from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes; an 11 kW three-phase home charger fills it overnight in about 11 hours. Expect noticeably less range with the AC running hard in summer.
Variants
There is one: Long Range Pro+ 2WD at PKR 31,500,000. It is the top trim on the regional brochure, so it carries the Nappa zero-gravity sofas, the larger NMC battery and the Matte Gray paint option.
Alternatives
Petrol-hybrid seven-seater for far less: Hyundai Palisade. Practical people-carrier: Toyota Hiace. Smaller electric Xpeng: Xpeng G6.
