Changan Karvaan 2026 Overview

This is a tall boxy people-carrier aimed at families and light commercial use — sliding door, dual AC, and a short 3980 mm body that still seats seven when the optional third row is fitted.
Changan Karvaan exterior
The Karvaan is a high-roof mini van: 3980 × 1620 × 1890 mm on a 2560 mm wheelbase, with 165 mm of clearance. The face is a dual-wing chrome grille, trapezoid headlights, and fog lamps in the bumper. A sliding side door and wide mirrors are the practical bits. Comfort rides on 14-inch steel wheels (165/70 R14). Plus 1.2 steps up to 14-inch alloys.
Changan Karvaan interior
Every grade is a seven-seater with fabric seats and a fold-flat third row when you need cargo. Rear AC vents cool the middle and back rows. The cabin is beige-and-black with a simple analogue cluster. Plus 1.2 adds interior lighting, a rear power outlet, and a rear camera. Boot space with seats up is listed around 120 litres — the point of this van is people, not a sedan boot.

Comfort keeps a basic radio head unit with USB / Aux and two front speakers. Plus 1.2 lists a 5-inch LCD with navigation plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the sheet. Neither trim has a large floating tablet like the Alsvin Lumiere.

Both grades share the same 1193 cc MPI four: 96 HP @ 5000 rpm and 119 Nm @ 4800 rpm, Euro 4, FWD, and a 5-speed manual. Top speed is listed at 180 km/h. The rear uses leaf springs — fine for load, softer than a crossover when the van is empty. Electric power steering and a 5.5 m turning circle help in tight compounds.

Shared kit includes two airbags, child locks, an immobilizer, seat-belt reminders, fog lamps, a high-mount stop lamp, and rear parking sensors. ABS and EBD arrive only on Plus 1.2, along with the rear camera. There is no ISOFIX, traction control, or ADAS pack on the current list.
